Unregistered medicines can look identical to genuine medicines produced by recognized manufacturers. To make it worse, these products can be easily bought online. Many of these products are marketed illegally and easily accessed. The sale of these medicines on the market influenced people with chronic diseases to buy and consume these unregistered medicines. Unregistered medicines often contain the correct ingredients in incorrect quantities. More tragically, they may also contain the wrong active ingredients, which may be toxic or no active ingredients at all. Treatment with unregistered medicines such as antibiotics can lead to the emergence of resistant organisms. In extreme cases, unregistered medicines may even cause death either due to ineffectiveness or adverse effects. Thus, this book explores and discusses the current prevalence and factors associated with knowledge, attitude, and practice of unregistered medicines used in our community.
