As a sequel to the first volume that came out in 2019, the second volume of "The Chih Lo Lou Collection of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy" collection is now available. Moving on from the works by the Ming loyalists, this catalogue focuses on the leading masters of the Song dynasty through to the Qing dynasty. Altogether, 98 pieces or sets of Chinese painting and calligraphy, including those by members of the "Four Masters of Ming", namely Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin, the Songjiang School of painting led by Dong Qichang, "The Four Wangs" of early Qing, including Wang Shimin and Wang Hui, as well as members of the Qing dynasty "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou", such as Jin Nong and more. Complemented by two academic articles written by Museum curatorial staff, and coloured with illustrations of the works in the Collection completed with comprehensive inscriptions and entries, this extensive publication records the uniqueness of the Chih Lo Lou Collection of Chinese painting and calligraphy, an indispensable companion for research and collectible treasure.
