As one of the leading masters of modern Chinese art, Wu Guanzhong (1919 – 2010) sets a fine example by donating large portions of his works to public museums, most generously to the HKMoA. Based on the Museum's invaluable collection of Wu's paintings, and supplemented by valuable archival and historical materials with over 200 coloured illustrations, the publication introduces the life of Wu Guanzhong and his artworks, it also serves as an essential reference for the appreciation of his art and artistic theories. By recounting the artist's precious memories and close relationship with Hong Kong and the HKMoA, the Museum also pays tribute to Wu Guanzhong and his family for their great affection for Hong Kong.
