Independent India’s greatest tragedy was the thrusting of Muslim appeasement policies on the nation under pressure of left-liberals and pan-Islamists. It was the biggest blow to the Hindus—the majority community which was freeing itself from foreign bondage after 800 years. It also laid the foundation for divisive politics in the country. Even Dr B.R. Ambedkar was opposed to such appeasement which meant denying Hindus the full possession of Ayodhya, Kashi-Vishwanath and Mathura temples.
