Many development observers agree that Africa is experiencing a period of significant development, with notable economic and social growth and increasing global interest. Despite the fact over 465 million people living in Sub-Saharan Africa live below the poverty line, the region has massive natural resources and the world’s largest free trade area and a 1.2-billion-person market, bustling with the largest youth population per capita in the entire world. Africa has the potential to forge a new development path, harness the potential of its resources and people, as well as creating democratic institutions which will promote equity and egalitarianism. The continent has made great strides in development occasioned by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with now wider connectivity as well as coping with demands of Artificial Intelligence and smart economic investments in blue economy and investing in climate resilient activities.
