Date palms in Oman are threatened by approximately 54 insect and animal pests, which impact both crop yields and fruit quality. The most destructive are the Dubas bug, Red palm weevil, Old World date mite, and Lesser date moth. The Omani Ministry of Agriculture actively monitors and manages these threats through chemical spraying and biological parasite controls.
