The memoirs titled "A Soil Scientist in Academia" is his latest venture into the realm literature. Dr Shamshuddin wrote an almost complete story on the 50 years of his life journey in academia. He began by writing on the difficulties facing village folks during the days after the Japanese occupation of Malaya. Born in Kelantan during that period. he still feel what it was like to be there then. He studied in various schools, universities and R&D institutions and travelled far and wide in the line of duty to become what he is today.
