Democracy: demos or demons? is a critique of our practise of democracy, matching the expedients of practice with the imperatives of theory, pointing out the truth, the fable, and the fallacies. The book goes beyond that, suggesting fundamental and pragmatic changes, some mandatory, and others optional to make our democracy realize the goals set for it. These goals are not the same in all societies as they vary with different levels of economic and social development.
